West Hove Golf Club

“This is one of the most magnificent and up-to-date of its kind to be found anywhere, and is a delightful structure of wattle and daub, with brown outside beams giving an artistic effect....... and no expense has been spared in providing every modern requirement and comfort for the golfer.”

These were the words used to describe our original clubhouse which opened in 1910. (see photo to the right)

81 years later, following the development of the A27 Brighton by-pass over our old course, West Hove opened another ‘most magnificent and up-to-date’ clubhouse. This time it has been built of brick, with flint walls around the central atrium which has a rounded roof to reflect the rolling landscape of the South Downs.

Since 1991 there has been a continual programme of improvement to the clubhouse. This includes a total refurbishment of the ground floor changing rooms and on the first floor the development of the Wayfarers' Terrace and the provision of our balcony restaurant which affords splendid panoramic views over the golf course.

The second floor now includes the General Manager’s office, the Match & Handicap office, our Committee Room and the Keith Haste Suite which may be hired for conferences and private meetings.
